The launch of the Solvi’Terra Living Lab in the Val de Drôme, southern France, took place on 12 December 2024. The event involved a workshop to identify local actors already working on the health of agricultural soils in the territory or who may be interested in doing so.

It featured an introduction from the vice-president of the agricultural department of the Communauté de communes du Val de Drôme (CCVD). FiBL France’s Florence Arsonnaeu, living lab ambassador, presented the project as well as the objectives and expected outcomes of the Solvi’Terra living lab.
Solagro’s Lou Ackermann and CCVD’s Elise Chevalier prepared and led staekholder mapping workshops. Groups of around 10 people took part in two exercises.
The first was a soil fresco, which allowed participants to share definitions of the main components and functions of soil as well as issues related to soil health.
The second exercise allowed each stakeholder present to share their involvement and actions in the territory concerning agricultural soil.
Everyone was also able to express their interest in participating in the Living Lab Solvi’Terra and the conditions necessary to get involved in the next activities.
The participation was a success, with almost 50 people present, and this is very encouraging for the future of Solvi’Terra!
