Led by FiBL France, the Val de Drôme Community of Communes, GRAB, the Drôme Chamber of Agriculture, and Solagro, Solvi’Terra is a living lab based in Drôme, southeast France. It aims to improve agricultural soil health through the development and widespread adoption of sustainable farming practices that benefit both the soil and the economic viability of farms in the region.
How can we improve agricultural soil health in the Val de Drôme?
To begin answering this question, around 50 local stakeholders—including farmers, technical advisors, experts, and elected officials—gathered on Thursday, 10 April, at the Ecosite Campus in Eurre. The goal of this workshop was to identify the concerns, needs, and challenges related to agricultural soils in order to build a strategic plan for soil health in the Val de Drôme.
This work will be continued during a second workshop scheduled for June 12.
The next phase of the project will involve farmers in testing new solutions to improve soil health and will draw heavily from the ideas and discussions shared during these sessions.
